A Thought on Ghost Hunting Shows

A lot of people are hooked on ghost hunting reality shows like Ghost Hunters and Paranormal State now at days. What I find interesting about all this though is that when Ghost Hunters (who sort of started it all.) first aired on The Sci-Fi Channel, they didn't really encounter much of anything interesting. Every once and awhile they had an interesting EVP or something really freaky like an image of a Civil War soldier on their thermal cam.

Now jump ahead a couple seasons, with not only more Ghost Hunters episodes, but similar shows from competitors, and suddenly you have more phenomenon happening in the various shows then you can shake a stick at. One can assume that either they're faking all these events or the opposite, which is that they are indeed happening. Lets go with the "they're really happening" assumption and ask why the increase in phenomenon?

For generations it has been said that you shouldn't mess with things that you don't understand. The ouija board is a primary example of this where we're all warned not to play with such things because they can let "bad things" through. Could this be happening on a larger scale? Are these ghost hunters possibly making contact, but angering those on the "otherside" as a result? Or just simply making it easier for beings on the other side to come through? It would seem a possibilty to me...however it's just a thought, and perhaps these shows are nothing more then mere entertainment...

How Would It All Go Down...

Have you ever stopped to wonder exactly what would happen if the world were suddenly faced with an epic, destructive, end of our way of life style event? More precisely, how would we as humans would handle the situation?

I don't mean our current global warming stuff (Way to keep us in line if you ask me. Going green is good, but I think it's one of those "Fear will keep them in line." things. I'll explain more in a later post...) or the war on "terror", but more like a world wide epidemic, or even (just for the fun of saying it) a zombie style event.

Do you think we could handle it? Would we, like some people would assume, "unite" and work to fix things the best we can in order to have a future? Or would we fall victim to the very things that make us human; our emotions, beliefs, pride, prejudice, greed...?

I'm personally of the opinion that we could go either way. It's in our abilities and indeed our nature to unite. However, we can just as easily fall victim to our own, human faults as well, if not more so. Just look at politics or religion. It doesn't take much to see how strongly people will defend their views on either one of those subjects. So in reality, like in zombie movies such as Day of the Dead, it would only take one or two people thinking they are right to ruin any chance of survival for just about everyone. Of course the same people could also potentially save us. The only way to know for sure is if and when such an event happens. Not that I'm saying zombies will rise from the grave, but something big is destined to happen eventually. With current global conditions we might just be on the verge of something...we'll just have to wait and see.

Cool Post Over at The Gralien Report

Micah A. Hanks has an awesome post over at his blog, The Gralien Report. Not only does it mention the one and only H.P. Lovecraft, but hallucinogens as well; which of course are well known for being associated with hippies, mushrooms, and shamans.

Micah makes some interesting connections, which involve both Lovecraft and Shamans (sorry no hippies or mushrooms), and the possibility that the hallucinogenic checmical DMT (which occurs naturally in the human body by the way) may actually allow us to see...well just read it for yourselfs...

The Gralien Report: What Hails From Beyond: Shamanic Drugs, or Pathways to Other Dimensions?

By the way, I couldn't help, but think about the story The Hounds of Tindalos by Frank Belknap Long when I read that. In that Cthulhu Mythos tale, somebody uses a drug to accomplish something all to similar to what Micah talks about.

Also, I have a coworker who is working on a major in physics and has read a lot into quantum physics. He believes something very similar involving the hallucinogenic chemicals affecting us on a quantum level...

One more also...
I've never used hallucinogens and don't condone using hallcinogens, unless it's in the proper scientific setting...or perhaps with some real shamans...that'd be kinda neat...

Alien Video From Peru

It seems that both Central and South America are hotbeds for incidents of high strangeness. Not only are their vasts amounts of UFO/alien sightings there, but they also have Chupacabra, and amongst other things, gnomes and flying humanoids.

Just in last couple days or so a video purporting to show an alien creeping slowly out of the bushes in Peru has surfaced.

Looks like a bipedal version of a walking stick...at least with the lousy video quality. It's not known for sure whether indeed this video is real or a hoax, but according to Peruvian Ufologists it is authentic.

My opinion however is, well...I honestly don't know. Like most strange videos coming from that area of the world it will probably wind up wrapped in controversy for a month or so, then fade off into obscurity much like this one:

I have to admit though that the large amount of strange occurrences in that part of the world is rather intriguing. I'd say it's more to do with people being more superstitious there, but then if I put myself in a lets say the shoes of an extraterrestrial visiting Earth, I'd rather go for a place where people would ooh and awe over me as opposed to shoot at me. So what better place then one that is superstitious and tropical?

Welcome to Mars

NASA/ESA Mars image taken with the Hubble Telescope

“Welcome to Mars Base.” the kind female computer voice says as you step out of the shuttle craft, or at least it would if we were there already. Manned Mars missions have a bad habit of being set back, and back, and back...I remember as a kid in the 1990s hearing that we'd be to Mars in 10-20 years and now it's not predicted until about the late 2030s. All disappointing promises aside, Mars is a really interesting and mesmerizing place.

Named after the Roman God of war, Mars is smaller (but not to much smaller) then Earth, is the fourth planet from the sun and has captivated mankind for centuries. Of all the planets in our solar system, Mars was and is thought to be the most likely, besides Earth, to have harbored life. In fact many times in the past people have thought they've seen signs of life on the planet. One the first was the “Martian canals” spotted by an Italian astronomer named Giovanni Schiaparelli in the late 19th century, who even made a map.

Another famous “sign” is the all to familiar “Face on Mars” in the Cydonia region which has gained infamy for looking like a artificially constructed human face when it's picture was first taken via satellite. Whether or not it is indeed some sign of a Martian civilization or a trick of light has been debated for years now. NASA claims the latter, while many on the alternative fringe side of things believe it is really Martian architecture. They even claim that NASA airbrushes or edits the defining features out of any pictures showing evidence of a past Martian civilization.

Beside being the subject of just conspiracy theories, Mars has inspired a fair share of fiction as well. Classics like The Wars of the Worlds by H.G. Wells, or Edgar Rice Burroughs's A Princess of Mars (the other book I'm currently reading besides The 12th Planet) are just two of the many stories that have used Mars within their plots. Then there are movies like Total Recall, which starred the governator, Arnold Schwarzenegger, or video games like DooM. Hey that reminds me, Mars has moons.

You see originally the storyline for the first installment of the DooM game series had it taking place on Mars' moons, Deimos (dread) and Phobos (fear) and the story was redone in DooM III on Mars. Both moons are vastly different from the majority of moons in our solar system. They are smaller and not spheroid like the other moons and appear to be large asteroids that got stuck in Mars' gravity millions of years ago. Fittingly both Phobos and Deimos were Mars' sons in ancient myth.

You know, you've read all this way I haven't even mentioned anything about the physical characteristics of Mars...perhaps I should do that.

As already stated, Mars is smaller then the Earth, therefore having less gravity, which for all you weight watchers out there, that means if you ever go to Mars you'll weigh less! Other then that, Mars is incredibly red. A fact that is due to a layer of iron(III) oxide dust, but if you're lost, it's basically rust dust. You should probably be up to date on your tetanus shots before you set foot there...

Two of the most distinguishing features of Mars are Olympus Mons and the Valles Marineris. Olympus Mons holds the distinction of not only being the largest mountain in the solar system, but also the largest volcano, which is now dead like the rest (at least we assume) of the planet's volcanic activity.

The Valles Marineris (Mariner Valley) is a vast canyon, much, much, larger then the Grand Canyon here on our home world. Like Olympus Mons, it is quite possibly the largest canyon in the solar system. It also appears that it was formed in Mars' past when the may have been running flowing water on the planet. Now at the days, the only known water on Mars it seems exists at the planet's North and South poles, which are frozen just like Earth's.

So I think I'll leave you all with that simply because I don't want to bore you all (ok maybe it's a bit of laziness too) with getting to technical with the planet. There are tons of other interesting little bits about Mars out there, including recent news such as snowflakes captured in a image by the Phoenix lander up at one of the poles. It would also seem that Mars has a curse based on the fact 2/3rds of the missions to the planet have failed in one way or another. If want to know more however, you can either check out the links below, or do a search on Google or your preferred search engine and you're guaranteed to come up with something interesting. Peace...

IX-777 is back with a new video

Well it appears that IX-777 (I first mentioned him here) has put a new video up on Youtube.

It seems according to his blog that he has fallen upon some hard times financially while abroad. Now in his last video he claimed to be in Argentina. Going by his current video I'm assuming he's still somewhere in South America, or Argentina, and he even seems to have a monkey friend that won't leave him alone.

Now despite the heavy contactee influence in some of his ideas, he has some valid points (as I said the first time I mentioned him) and I'm just intrigued in general from a psychological standpoint. Like all these things it's a matter of whether he is indeed what he says he is or if he's just building up some complex mythology to share his ideas. The other option is that he's nuts, but I doubt that especially since he hangs with a monkey...

Nightstalkers and Black Helicopters

The 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne) aka Night Stalkers or Task Force 160 and have been mentioned in a couple recent episodes of UFO Hunters on The History Channel. Besides some possible UFO connections these guys may also be responsible for many of the "black helicopter" reports out there.

Started back in 1980 after the hostage rescue failure in Iran, these guys specialize in night flying (explains the black paint jobs on their helicopters) at low altitudes. They are also trained to move in and get out quickly and were involved in some recent historical military missions, including the incident Blackhawk Down was about.

According to the Wikipedia page on these boys (the only women are staff) they fly three different helicopters and their variants, including the CH/MH-47 Chinook, MH-60 Blackhawk, and AH/MH-6 Little Bird. However besides looking good in black paint jobs, these guys may, as already mentioned, have connections to a couple UFO incidents that were covered on UFO Hunters.

The first incident is a famous and mysterious case involving 3 eye witnesses who saw a mysterious diamond shaped craft in the middle of a Texas highway. As they were watching the craft a group of large helicopters (possibly CH-47 Chinooks) surrounded the object and apparently escorted it from the area. All witnesses later began to experience what doctors could only diagnose as radiation sickness. The case is now known as the Cash-Landrum (Wikipedia and Tinwiki) incident (named after the witnesses) and is one of the most mysterious in UFO history. It's also worthy to note that this incident occured in 1980, when the Night Stalkers were first formed. Whether or not the helicopters seen where from the Night Stalkers is not known for sure.

The other incident involves a crash of a mysterious object in Needles California on March 14th, 2008. Initially it appeared it was a meteorite, but shortly after the crash not only were black military helicopters seen (retrieving the object none the less) in the area, but planes that fly people to Area 51 were present at a nearby airport in Laughlin. So not only do we have the Area 51 connection, but also black helicopters which are possibly part of Task Force 160 (as mentioned in UFO Hunters) which has a battalion based north of California in Fort Lewis Washington. Interesting if I do say so myself...wonder what they recovered...

Anyways, for those who haven't checked it out, I highly recommend catching UFO Hunters on The History Channel which is quite possibly the best UFO show out there. Also here is some reading material I dug up on the Needles Crash:

Wee Folk in the Woods

Today when my wife, my kids, and I were hiking (ok we were walking. It's not really hiking on a paved path now is it?) through the nature park today, my daughter randomly turned to a section of woods and said "Hello" to something (or someone?) she apparently saw.

Seeing as Morgan is only 2, the average person probably would have passed it off as her being imaginative or saying hi to one of the many wild birds like ones I posted pics of earlier. Since I am far from average, my mind instantly jumped to the wee folk, or gnomes, elves, and what not, like the ones that many of the people in Iceland talk about. I said something about it to my wife who was to busy thinking "What the heck was she talking to?" to actually hear me. Both of us believe however, that little kids are more attuned to see things the average grown up will not, so we were intrigued for sure.

The funny thing out of all this is that I almost believe in the existence of such little folk as do many others out there. What they are however I have no clue. Probably some sort of pan-dimensional being (Exists in multiple dimensions and even times.) or something.

As I've mentioned before, there are some people out there that believe that the little folk of old are actually the aliens of today. The idea is interesting for sure, especially if you want to approach it from the possibility that these beings are indeed multidimensional time jumping super beings of some kind. Not to mention it would explain the bizarre nature of some UFO sightings and other encounters of high strangeness.

Overall the more I read into the paranormal, UFOs, and other esoterica, I'm getting more and more convinced that the answers for many of these experiences lie within the world of quantum physics and other theories. There are things out there to bizarre, weird, and utterly impossible to happen within normal physics, and I can't help, but wonder what doors will open to us when we get a better understanding of quantum physics. Who knows, gnomes and aliens may just be the beginning.

As for what my daughter said "hello" to today...we never did figure it out. Perhaps it was a elf...I just need to get off my butt and do a full post on wee folk soon. Hmmm...St. Patricks day is coming up soon...marvelous! I've got an idea...

Some Birds

Took these at a local nature trail using our new digital camera. A Nikon D-90 with a zoom lense. Speaking of which it has a really good video feature on it and I was debating on doing a vidcast every once and awhile, but alas my voice sucks on audio and I will spare you all the torture. Plus I'm not as good with words while talking as I am when writing.

The first bird is a robin and the second is a spotted towhee.

Thoughts on "The 12th Planet" Part 4

For those just now tuning into 'The Realm" I've been reading the book "The 12th Planet" (part of the Earth Chronicles) by Zecharia Sitchin and sharing my thoughts on it as I go. Thoughts parts 1, 2, and 3...

Now to catch everyone up, in Zecharia's book we've so far met the Sumerians who were for the most part the first advanced Mesopotamian civilization. Then he covered the connections between Sumerian mythology and just about any other mythology or religion since then.

While exploring the myth area we met all the oh so incestuis Sumerian Gods, who for the most part apparently we're real. Or at least they are spoken of as if they were real in the book. Almost as if the Sumerians and other ancients did indeed interact with them. Zecharia even ventured as far as claiming that perhaps some of the events and people/beings in the Bible, particularly the Old Testament we're connected to Sumerian myth and were real events.

That brings us to where I'm currently at in the book where Mr. Sitchin has explained his interpretation of some of the words of ancient Sumeraria and later civilizations, mainly the word mu or shem (one is Sumerian the other Hebrew? Need to go back and check) which were both thought by historians to mean name. However if they are interpreted as meaning missle instead of name you suddenly have what seems to have Gods and sometimes people using rockets to travel through the air and space. Literally Zecharia seems to mean honest to goodness rockets like we use now at days.

My thoughts on this are kind of scattered. I can see where he might be onto something, but something keeps tugging at my brain stem saying "Why would an advance, presumably alien race use rockets like ours?" You know what I mean? If they had evolved to travel through space, why the rockets? They aren't efficient for long distance space travel.

Now possibly from planet to moon, or planet to planet in this case as the "12th planet" has now been introduced, well partly. That is assuming of course that indeed this planet did exist and was in orbit of the Earth. Which according to what I know of the "12th Planet" theory, it has been in the past due to an elliptical orbit which goes to the farthest edge of the solar system, only to come back around by Earth.

Realistically a 12th planet could exist, but heck right now we only have an official 8. The Sumerians apparently counted the Sun, Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune, Uranus, Pluto, and the Moon, which is a total of 11, plus they had one more that we don't which made planet 12. So interpreting it that way solves that, but leaves us with one heavenly body we haven't accounted for in modern times.

I guess if you wanted to you could interpret that as being a dwarf planet or plutoid which would be hard to detect even with todays tech. Like the 12th Planet, they lurk on the outer edge of the solar system, and who knows, maybe one does swing near Earth once and awhile. Throw in the possibility the 12th Planet is artificial (kind of like the Death Star in Star Wars) and not natural, and it could potentially hover near Earth for a long time allowing for plenty of time for it's in habitants to travel back and forth. It would explain the use of rockets to since they may have been easier to produce then shuttle craft.

Anyways that's it for now...I want to read more before I continue on with my rambling, theorizing...madness...thing gummies...

I should probably read up on the web for a better understanding of our solar system too.

The Tyrant Lizard King of the Dinosaurs Lives?

Tyrannosaurus rex (T. rex) , the Tyrant Lizard King has long been thought of as the most terrifying dinosaur to ever roam the planet. Bipedal, 13ft tall (at the hips), 42ft in length, possessing a mouth full of teeth as long as 12 inches, and built like a classic theropod, it's no wonder his discoverers thought him a king.

T. rex Skull

T. rex's reputation has wavered little even with the discovery of fellow theropods larger then the King, such as Giganotosaurus and Spinosaurus, although the latter's size is still up for debate. Even with larger rivals old Rexy is still regarded as the King of the dinosaurs amongst many, and it's a reputation well played out in movies such as Jurassic Park.

Oddly despite being seemingly designed for to be a dinosaur hunting machine, some paleontologists believe T. rex may have been nothing more then a scavenger, much like todays vultures, only on the ground with big...really big...um...teeth...Ok let's admit it, there is no way he was just strictly a scavenger. Odds are that like most predatory animals T. rex was an opportunistic hunter. That means that pretty much he would hunt for food, but if he found a fresh corpse or a weaker predators kill (even fellow Rexes probably) he wouldn't pass up the opportunity for an easy meal.

Now Tyrannosaurus had other family members running around the world before and during his reign. These family members have been given the convenient name of Tyrannosauridae and they ranged over both North America and Asia. However in the last century an interesting report came out of Africa. It seems that in 1932 a man named John Johnson had a strange encounter in the Kasai Valley of what is now the Democratic Republic of the Congo while hunting.

Mr. Johnson claimed that as he was about to shoot a rhinoceros when a 42ft long reptile burst out of the trees and killed John Johnson's would be trophy. His servant ran for his life while Mr. Johnson promptly fainted (If you believe that T. rex's vision is based on movement like in Jurassic Park, it might work. However that bit of the movie was fictional...sorry to disappoint) only to come to later and see the creature chowing down on the rhino. John described the beast as looking like a Tyrannosaurus, as you probably already knew by now, which has since been labeled Kasai rex.

The problem however is this; Tyrannosaurs (or Tyrannosauridae) did not roam Africa, or at least there is no fossil evidence that they did. Adding to this is the fact that there is absolutely no evidence of the creatures existence other then this account and a newspaper article describing a virtually similar incident without a name for the witness. There are also apparently two photos of said beast floating around out there, however one shows nothing more then a picture of a monitor lizard pasted onto a jungle scene and the other that supposedly shows a T. rex eating a rhino doesn't seem to exist other then in a fake and copyrighted form.

The one in the second photo looks much like this one from an old movie.
It's posture is incorrect though. In fact T. rex stood much like the one in Jurassic Park.

If you don't want to dismiss Kasai rex as nothing more then some hunters telling tall tales, you can assume that perhaps it was indeed an African dwelling theropod not related to Tyrannosaurus, such as Cacharodontosaurus who was native at least to North Africa, and as large, if not larger then the King. Like all rumored surviving dinosaurs (excluding birds of course) it is doubtful that it exists at all, but as many like to say Africa would be one of the best places for one to survive if one did.

"You see, Jason was my son, and today is his birthday."

Well it's the middle of a three day run of special days. The first was yesterday, Thursday the 12th, which happened to be Abe Lincoln's and Charles Darwin's (the guy who came up with the theory of evolution) birthday. The third will be tomorrow, Saturday the 14th, which is Valentines Day. That leaves us with today, the 13th.

Now aside from being the day when Black Sabbath released their first album it's also the birthday of controversial TV host Jerry Springer. Neither one of those really matter however in comparison to the simple fact that today is Friday...........Friday the 13th! Well by now you should be hearing the dramatic music...wait I think that may just be in my head.

So yes, today is the infamous Friday the 13th, and it happens to be the first one of 2009. Classically today is supposed to be a day of bad luck for, well everyone, unless you're one of the few who looks forward to it, if only for the Friday the 13th movies (I just saw the original last night, first time ever watching anything from the series. Not bad. Kept yelling at the last girl at the end though. If you knock someone out 3 different times, only to have them come after you again minutes later, you must be pretty dense to not get the idea that you just need to kill them.) playing on television.

Slasher movies aside, the origins of the whole Friday the 13th myth/curse/whatever are not very clear. There are numerous ones, but none are considered the official source, so we'll go with the one involving one of my favorite subjects; Norse myth.

As legend has it, when the Norse converted to Christianity, they apparently banished the Goddess Frigga (Goddess of love and fertility, as well as the origin for Friday-Frigga Day. Anyone else wondering how the banished her?) to mountaintop. Understandably, this probably pissed her off a bit and even more so when they labeled her a witch.

Now the thing to remember about Norse Gods and Goddesses, is that they don't take crap. So what does Frigga do? Well she gets together with 11 more witches (more banished Goddesses or Gods?) and Satan himself (making 13) and plotted against the Norse peoples, causing them grief, misery, and general bad luck the week after. For awhile apparently the people Scandinavia even called Friday, the witches sabbath.

Of course that's not the only origin story for Friday the 13th. Some of the others involve everything from the Knights Templar, to Jewish traditions, Greek myth, or even Jesus Christ's crucifixion. If you want to know more, just trot over to the Wikipedia page on it and see for yourself.

Almost forgot...if you have an irrational fear of Friday the 13th, it's called Paraskevidekatriaphobia. Yeah...you just try and pronounce that...

My thoughts on the "Wichita UFO"

Well the latest UFO photo to create a buzz (ok a small one so far) on the web is this guy:

The person who captured the image says that it was it came out of the clouds and moved faster then any aircraft (including F-16s, etc...) he has ever seen and left a pinkish glow for a short time. After sending it to UFO Digest (which helped earn it national attention), people are beginning to say that it is undoubtedly a secret military aircraft, or a B-2 Spirit bomber carrying a secret drone craft piggyback style, much like the SR-71 decades ago.

Sr-71 with drone

Now one of the things I hate the most is debunking a UFO photo, especially one that so many people are convinced is a secret aircraft. The other thing I hate about it is that it makes me feel like I don't believe in UFOs, when I sincerely do and know that some of the things I've have seen are not man made, or at least not normal. However I really, really have to call this one out. Why? Well what I see here is almost clearly and I mean clearly......................................a bird....

What makes me say that? Well first off, it's almost a perfect profile of a bird in flight. Secondly, notice the background is quite decently in focus leaving any objects in the foreground, out of focus, not to mention providing us with some sense of perspective. Now that object that is claimed to be a secret aircraft is quite clearly in the foreground. So if that is indeed a B-2 Spirit carrying a drone, it is a rather small B-2 Spirit carrying a drone. That to me leaves only one possibility and that is that this is a photo of a bird, banking slightly in the foreground.

Here is a close up of the object in the photo:

Here is a close up with my attempt at trying to highlight the obvious bird features (which I think are pretty obvious highlighted or not):

And now, for comparison, here is a smaller section of the Wichita photo and a small pic showing a bird in flight from a similar (not banking) angle:

By no means am I a professional photographer, nor do I have much experience in analyzing photos, but I have had some photography classes in the past and based on my knowledge from those classes, I am confident that that is indeed a bird...and if you read farther on the UFO Digest link, I'm not the only one who sees it.

Oh, and if this object was moving at a fast rate of speed like it is claimed, and if the photographer did indeed have a slow lens like he claims in the news article I've linked to below, then there is a slight lack of motion blur...

Ok...I'm spent...and tired of feeling like one of them debunkers...eww...I feel dirty for even feeling like one of them...

Thoughts on "The 12th Planet" Part 3

This time my thoughts will be rather brief, mainly because I haven't read much of the book in the last couple days. Well, that and when going over genealogies of Gods, it's rather boring, confusing, and full of incest. It seems they were worse then the royal families of medieval Europe at committing incest. So if indeed there were alien "Gods" here on Earth thousands of years ago, I'm pretty sure they breed themselves to extinction...unless they have a genes capable of surviving such genetic mayhem.

You know...it could explain alien abductions if you think of the Greys being the end result of a shallow gene pool. After all most abductions seem to involve hybridizing of humans and aliens, so perhaps they are trying to restore themselves to the best of their abilities...

Lockheed's Secret Airship

Today I picked up the most recent issue of Popular Mechanics due to the three big letters on the cover that said "UFO". Not only did I find one of the worst attempts at debunking the Stephenville UFO ever, but in the same article they had a picture of one of Lockheed's most recent Skunk Works projects: The P-791 Airship.

This is one weird looking bugger, and huge! It's a hybrid airship, or simply a blimp that combines both traits of lighter then air craft and fixed wing aircraft or helicopters. From the side, it appears to be a normal blimp, but it's when you see it head on that it gets funky, and you see how large it is. Heck, I could even see people looking at this thing from the bottom mistaking it for an extra-terrestrial spaceship, however that does not mean that it accounts for all UFO sightings by the way, just that it would be one to anyone unaware of it's existence.

Speaking of being unaware of the existence of aircraft, there are rumors floating around the UFO and conspiracy communities that the military has some black projects using similar airships. These airships are a possible explanation for some of the commonly seen black triangle UFOs which have been reported over the last couple of decades.

As for the debunking of the Stephenville UFO, well the article tried to convince the reader that despite the fact that FAA radar data showed a large unknown object (capable of accelerating from about 49-60 miles per hour to 500 plus mph in under 30 seconds. I doubt even that fancy airship above can do that.), the sighting was nothing, but people mistaking military aircraft lights for a large unknown object. And the whole large object on radar? Radar error, or so the article tried claiming (no back up other then what the was read in a radar study down in 1997)...yeah and my name is Buddy Holly...

Thoughts on "The 12th Planet" Part 2

Alright I've finally made it past the bit on Sumerian history. I almost thought he was wrong about them being the first major city building civilization, but the ruins that I thought about in Turkey that are older are merely a settlement and not a city. Pretty much it'd be like comparing the Anasazi ruins(I've seen some of those in person. Really cool and quite amazing) in the American Southwest to Ancient Egypt.

Now I've gotten into a really neat part in The 12th Planet where the Zecharia is talking about the similarities between various mythologies in the Mesopotamian area up through Greece and India. He makes a rather convincing case that they all tie back into Sumerian myth and is beginning to hint at the extra-terrestrial as Gods hypothesis, but hasn't actually mentioned it. I think as far as just the mythology connections he mentions, he may be quite right. Although since I'm no mythology expert, I really can't say.

On a note unrelated to the current section of the book I'm reading, I believe that the over all possibility of there being a "12th Planet" has some potential. I doubt it'd be a true planet, but more like a planetoid like Pluto who was recentley forced to resign from it's planet ranking.

As for the possibility that such a planetoid could periodically swing by Earth, I really have no clue. All I can say for sure is that if it is possible, it would quite likely cause some problems here on our homeworld.

That's it for now. Look for part 3 soon.

Naveed out.

They Return: More Phoenix Lights?

It seems that the Phoenix Lights have made yet another appearance. This time they aren't nearly as dramatic as they were back in March of 1997 nor has anyone come forward admitting to hoaxing these lights (flares attached to balloons...looks like someone read up on the old glow stick and balloon trick used by some on Halloween to make ghosts) as with the last Phoenix Lights report made last year.In my humble amateur opinion I must say that indeed these lights are interesting, but if I were to make a guess just by looking at them, I'd go with either normal aircraft or military flares (yeah I know, but these look a lot more like flares then the original 1997 incident, which I believe was not flares by the way: real flares don't hover like that in one spot, nor in a steady curved line...well more on that farther down...) which I saw numerous times in Colorado when I was growing up. Happens when you're sandwiched between both a US Army base and Air Force base. Anyways the point is that this time around they do to me at least, resemble flares. However if the military doesn't launch or drop flares near that particular area...well umm...I'm stumped.

As for the original incident, I think it is one of the most pivotal moments in UFO history, and unfortunately I think to many people have accepted the military's rather lousy cover up story.

I said earlier, flares do not behave that way or last that long...and if you don't believe me, I suggest you check out the UFO Hunters episode on it, which does an excellent job of proving that point.

Also if it was indeed military exercises, then why were the flares visible where they shouldn't have been? From what I understand the practice range they were supposedly at was not close enough for their flares to even be seen. If it was close enough to see there it would be a frequent occurrence and something Phoenicians (residents or former residents of Phoenix, like myself. Makes us sound ancient doesn't it?) would have been used to.

Interestingly after the original occurrence in March 1997, the then Governor of Arizona, Fife Symington III, and his comrades in the Arizona government at this time made a mockery of the event. He went as far claiming that they caught the culprit and proceeded to bring out one of his aides dressed as an alien, during a press conference. Now jump forward 10 years to 2007 and suddenly Mr. Symington claims that he actually witnessed the lights, but didn't want to come forward at the original time of the incident. I wonder if those within the government have to fear the men in black?

Anyways as of this moment the whole orignal incident is still surrounded in controversy and with all things of this matter, it will probably remain that way. Excepting the possibility that the government may finally come clean on the subject...yeah I think that's doubtful...I was putting some hope into President Obama possibly being the one to intiate this, but then I saw this bit of info, with a link that included this video:

Honestly I hope that video is not real, because if it is, it's rather depressing...

Thoughts on "The 12th Planet" Part 1

Well, I lied, this won't quite be a commentary, but more or less what I think so far of Zecharia Sitchin's The 12th Planet, which is part of his Earth Chronicles series. For those that don't know, this series is about Mr. Sitchin's theory that alien colonists created (genetically engineered) mankind as slaves originally. Throughout the series he uses both myths, legends, Biblical references, and other sometimes controversial, facts to back up his theories.

This being my first time ever reading any of his work, I decided it'd be rather fun to share my thoughts every other day or so as I read The 12th Planet, which is the first part of the series. So far from what I've gathered it's designed to be an introduction to his series and will introduce us to the “12th Planet” called Nibiru, the so called Planet X to some. As of this moment, I am only on page 45, so this will be short and simple and probably not to informative, but I'm going for it anyways.

It seems that despite all the controversy surrounding Zecharia's research, he does manage to get some history as far as I can tell, rather correct. Right now the book is primarily getting us introduced to early man and civilization, particularly the Sumerian civilization who is believed to be one of the earliest stone city building cultures.

Currently the book hasn't mentioned anything about the aliens that I know are mentioned later, but I've been keeping that part in mind as I've been reading it. As a result I began to wonder about something when offerings and sacrifices were mentioned. Both have been used as ways to appease the Gods or God in the past and I thought that since we know religious beliefs and myths can often have some basis in truth, could sacrifices and or offerings to the “Gods” at one time been for a real reason? Could there really have been “Gods” eating food offerings or watching over a sacrifice? There is more then enough reason to assume there wasn't, but just as much reason to assume that perhaps there was. Having no way of going back and check however, I'll just have to wonder...

That's all for now folks, but in a couple days I will for sure have more thoughts to share on it. Stay out of trouble until then and brush your teeth!

New blog post, but not here...

I will now be blogging off and on over at UFO Magazine Blog alongside some who I consider to be the best in the UFO blogging world, but do not fear my regular readers of "The Realm", for I will still be posting here at Naveed's Realm just as much as always. Anyways be sure to check out my first post at UFO Magazine Blog entitled: Why is the truth ignored when it has been in plain sight?

And now I must turn in for the night, but tomorrow be sure to tune into "The Realm" for my commentary on what I think about the first part of Zecharia Sitchin's The 12th Planet.

It's no secret I'm a Lovecraft fan...

Thanks to The Debris Field once again, for I found another groovy link this time to the Gralien Report, who has a post on one of my all time favorite authors, H.P. Lovecraft! Yes, H.P. Lovecraft, the marvelous creator of Cthulhu! It seem that he will soon be staring in his very own comic series called The Strange Adventures of H.P. Lovecraft, which appears to throw Lovecraft into a world where his fictional creations are all to real. Just check out the trailer!
